The Business and Enterprise specialist status here at Holyhead offer a range of business and enterprise activities to enable students to gain both practical and theoretical experience of how the economy works.
Students explore the range of business activities in and around the Handsworth and Sandwell area and consider the importance of these businesses to the local economy.
They have the opportunity to work in groups and contribute to group decision-making activities.
Some of the activities involve local education business links, organisations and employers, these can be arranged for a whole class and in some instances a whole year group. Work experience is also used as an opportunity for students to gain first-hand knowledge of business and enterprise in action.
Students investigate the challenges and issues facing businesses by undertaking their own business ventures. This involves liaising with subject departments within school i.e. the Business & Enterprise jewellery club with Design Technology.
